Will I need a lawyer?
Yes, you will need a local English speaking lawyer in order to proceed to legal procedures that will follow after you have chosen the plot you wish to purchase. We can recommend you a lawyer or you can assign one of your own. You will give him/her Power of Attorney so he/she will obtain a local tax number, open a bank account and confirm that all legal issues regarding the plot that you have chosen are taken care of. Also he/she will sign all necessary documents on your behalf.
What taxes/expenses are involved?
The total expenses are forecast at approximately 10% of the purchase price of the property, depending on the Tax Office assessment. The 10% includes lawyer's fees and notary fees.
Do I need to open a bank account?
Yes, you will need to open a bank account, to make the necessary transactions easier. In order to open a bank account, the lawyer will need the following documents:
- P60 (tax document)
- Utility bill
- A prove of your home address.
If I want to rent out the building?
If you wish to rent out the building for tourist purposes, you will need to acquire a license from the Greek Tourist Organization (EOT). In order to acquire the license, the building must fulfill certain specifications. If you wish to apply for an EOT license, we must make sure the building is designed to fulfill the regulations.
Which are the payment stages to buy a house?
- 10% deposit to close the agreement.
- 30% to complete the purchase of the plot and the building permit.
- 30% to start the concrete frame.
- 25% at tilling stage.
- 5% upon handing over the key.
What about the building timetable?
Once the building permit has been obtained-which may take from three until four months-we will need approximately eight months to complete the project.

We can recommend you stores that will fulfill your personal taste in furniture and your needs in electric devises.
How can I supervise the building progress?
We will mail you regular updates and digital photographs and inform you about the building progress.
